Baby Shower
The aim of the baby shower is to shower the expectant parents with love and friendship. We have included some tips below to help make your shower a success.
No one should come to a party assuming they'll receive anything except good company and a bit of refreshment. But it's common, especially at showers, for the host or hostess to give the guests baby favors shower and/or prizes for winning games. You can give everyone the same favor at the end of the party (that way everyone's covered, even those who didn't win a game) or award different prizes throughout the event.
1. Who plans the baby shower?
Anyone can throw a baby shower, it's just a case of assigning one person to organise and co-ordinate with the expectant parents friends and family members. If the shower is being held before the baby is born, planning should start about six weeks before the shower is due to take place.
2. Determine your budget
Yo determin the budget for the shower, you must determine the number of people attending, where it will be held, the food, decorations and prizes.
3. Draw up a guest list
Ask the parents to be who they would like to attend the shower (unless of course it is a surprise). Get the names like our free baby shower games, addresses and phone numbers for each of the guests.
4. Decide on a theme/menu
You can tie a menu in with whatever theme you choose. Important considerations include
Will the party take place during the day or evening?
Will children be invited aswell?
What is the age range of the guests?
5. Select the date/time/location
Select a date and time which will make it easy for everyone to attend (including the parents-to-be). Consider having the shower at a weekend. Generally baby showers are held at home, but you can hold it elsewhere if there is not enough space for the number of guests you would like to attend.
6. Invitations
Once everything has been decided, you can send out invitations or just phone your expected guests. Make sure you have a list of all the guests and record whether they can come or not.
7. Entertainment
As the shower host, you should greet the guests as they arrive and introduce them to one another. Offer the guests refreshments and set the mood with candles, flowers and decorations.
